Bayou Rising is a New Web Series featuring Bobby Pitre with Rat Rods, Tattoos, and Pin-Up Girls on VideoMall.TV

Bayou Rising is the first definitive television/online series about life on the Louisiana Bayou.

It is centered on the life and times of Bobby Pitre, a local icon in bayou country. Bobby and his family have roots extending back to life in the Louisiana marshland. His mother grew up in the marsh, taking a "school boat" to school. Bobby himself has become famous for his tattoo artistry, his outspoken art, his rat rods, surfing and Cajun roots, he is the quintessential Cajun.

Bobby Pitre has appeared in Time Magazine, People Magazine, on CNN, French television, Japanese TV and many, many other forms of media, all because he has his finger on the pulse of life in south Louisiana.

Life on the Bayou Just Ain’t What it Use to Be

On the bayou you always know when the tide starts to rise. Shrimp boats up and down the bayou begin to loosen their moorings, crab fishermen begin to haul in their catch and sports fishermen take to the water.

It is not only the tide that rises on the bayou, people do too. Bobby Pitre is one of the Cajuns whose internal clock is tied to the old ways of bayou life and yet keenly in tune with modern life. The television series Bayou Rising is all about Bobby Pitre and how "his" people are in tune with nature as well as the natural cycle of modern life.

Bayou Rising is the first television series to demonstrate the critical balance of man and nature along the bayou. Bobby Pitre is the ideal modern Cajun. He is the symbol of a new generation along the water. Bobby Pitre is also a beacon for traditional Cajun values.

His tattoo shop is as contemporary as art can get in a modern age, yet he still takes time out to fish with his seven year old daughter, Sailor. Although Bobby Pitre's art is known far and wide, he still enjoys the simple life along the bayou, good food, family and the company of good friends.

Bayou Rising is about a peoples struggle to preserve their traditions in the face of social pressure. Bayou Rising is about the younger generation embracing the "drag and drop, double click" American society. Bayou Rising is about hot rods, tattoos, beautiful women, good food and a vanishing way of life with Bobby Pitre as the man of the hour.

Bobby Pitre's mission of advancing the old values is sometimes difficult. It is a timeless struggle that often pits generation against generation. Many of the older Cajuns cannot relate to the life styles of the young. Older folks are facing hardships all their own: oil spills and pollution killing off their crop of seafood, unemployment as oil field jobs move out of state and an extraordinary high cancer rate. Most of the hardships faced by today's older Cajun community have never been more taxing.

The youth enjoy a lifestyle unique to Cajun country and the natural fact that they are indeed young. On any given Saturday you might find a hot rod drive-in party at Southern Sting tattoo parlor, Bobby Pitre's place. It is from this locale that Bobby Pitre often plans his assault, via artwork, on an ever changing world. If you ask him, he will tell you that Bayou Rising is all about life in this perfect little corner of the world.
